THUNDER Corona Discharge Ozone Generator

Installation, Operating, and Maintenance Instructions

 

Models T2000 and T4000

 

 

The supplied components include:

 

1.      THUNDER Ozone Generator with 6 ft. of 3/8” ozone tubing

2.      Four # 6 x ¾” screws

 

 

Preparation:

 

1.      Mount THUNDER on a vertical surface that is above the pool water level and above the venturi when installed.  It is best to locate it where it is protected from the weather.  To mount, install the 4 mounting screws provided to the slots next to the corners of the controller and fasten to a vertical surface.

 

Tubing Connection.

 

1.      See your injector kit instructions to install the injector kit.  The injector from the injector kit will connect to the end of the 6 ft 3/8” tubing.  All our THUNDER injectors have a built in check valve.  THUNDER comes with an additional check valve about 12 inches from the end of the tubing for additional protection from water damage. 

 

Electrical

 

  1. Turn off the power to your pool equipment.
  2. THUNDER is supplied with a 120-volt plug if it is 120 volt.  The 240-volt units do not have a plug on the cord.  Cut the plug off the cord if you need to.  The black wire is a hot wire; the white wire is the neutral if 120 volt and the other hot wire if 240 volt, and the green wire is the ground wire.  Check the nameplate for proper voltage.  The voltage cannot be changed.
  3. THUNDER must be wired to operate when the pool pump, or 24 hour circulating pump if you have one or are installing one, is running i.e. both units start simultaneously.  If you are not sure how to connect the AC power, have a licensed electrician do it for you.

 

Startup

 

  1. Your pool on startup must be clean, sanitized, the pH adjusted to 7.2 to 7.6, and algae free.
  2. Should your pool be infested with algae, add algaecide following instructions carefully.
  3. With THUNDER you will only need to maintain .5 ppm chlorine or 1 ppm bromine.  If used with an ionizer and your system is properly sized and operated, you will need little or no sanitizing chemicals.
  4. If you purchased one of our ionizer systems, or 24-hour systems make sure it is installed at the same time.

 

Operation

 

  1. Turn on power to your pool equipment.
  2. Clean your pool filter.  Do not proceed until you clean the filter.
  3. Start your pool pump.  Listen to your THUNDER unit.  You should here a buzzing sound coming from it.  If it is buzzing it is producing ozone.  If ever you think your unit may not be producing ozone, listen for the buzzing sound.  If you here the buzzing sound it is producing ozone.  You may need to put your ear directly on your unit to here it.  Do not operate THUNDER unless air is being injected into the pool.
  4. See your injector systems instructions for proper installation and operation.
  5. Maintain the pH of the water at 7.2 to 7.6.
  6. Keep these instructions and your sales receipt in a safe place.  Refer to these instructions if you have any problems.  Do not call Sunshine Pool Products or your dealer with chemistry problems or questions.

 

 

THUNDER LIFETIME LIMITED WARRANTY

 

Sunshine Pool Products, LLC warrants THUNDER for life from date of purchase with the following limitations.  Labor and parts are fully covered for one year.  Parts are covered at 50% off of suggested retail for year two.  Parts are covered at 20% off of suggested retail for all years after year two.  For warranty service return THUNDER with a copy of your sales receipt, transportation prepaid, to the dealer you purchased it from, if available, or to Sunshine Pool Products, LLC.

 

Warranty Exclusions

 

This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from tampering, accident, abuse, negligence, fire, flood, freezing, improper operation, improper water chemistry, maintenance, or storage.  This warranty does not apply to normal wear to the ionizer electrodes, which are designed to erode over time.

 

Total Obligations

 

The forgoing constitutes the entire liability of Sunshine Pool Products to the original purchaser of THUNDER.  Sunshine Pool Products makes no other warranty of any kind, whatsoever, expressed or implied.  In no event will Sunshine Pool Products be liable to the owner for direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss, damage or economic injury to any person or property arising out of or relating to the use of THUNDER except as expressly set forth herein.

 

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.
